Rugby Ball

A sculpture designed for a clients garden with an interest in Rugby. It features a stylized rugby ball in flight, the components are forged from heavy steel with the supports starting from 60mm square at the base. All components are hot riveted together with 25mm diameter rivets which have been set with a sledgehammer.
The base is held down with forged wedges to allow it to be removed if necessary.
After it was assembled it was shot blasted to give a uniform finish and then left to rust. Once rusted an oil is applied to prevent further corrosion.
